One of the pharmaceutical firms of the world operating in pharmaceutical, nutritional, medical and diagnostic products, Abbott prefers Ekol Logistics dealing with the health sector strategically as its business partner for its logistics operations in Turkey.
Aiming for 70% growth in 2011 compared to 2010, Ekol opened the biggest representative pharmaceutical warehouse in Turkey named Yasemin (Jasmin) in Tuzla Logipark Campus. Ekol being a leader within the sector thanks to its custom solutions and the level of its technological infrastructure has invested 5 million Euros for the internal arrangements of its new facility of 20.000 square meters and for the compliance of sectoral standards worldwide. Ekol also made an investment of 1 million Euro in temperature controlled vehicles for use in international and national distributions in the first quarter of 2011. Being also assertive in health logistics, Ekol continues with its investment plans regarding the operation of its third distribution center by the end of 2011.
The logistics operations of Abbott Turkey will be carried out By Ekol with the long-term cooperation of Ekol and Abbott. Abbott with this project transfers its logistics operations to a logistics business partner for the first time. Ekol will provide to Abbott warehouse services as well as duty-free warehouse, inventory management, products control, sampling, order management, packaging, return and disposal management, secondary packaging, shipment and delivery services within the framework of this project. This cooperation is planned to be expanded to different activities in future.
Ekol will also carry out the management of the cold chain, promotional materials, publicity products, quarantine products, packaging materials and products subject to control in addition to products in other product groups under the project.
