Through cooperation with STS International Freight, a specialized firm with command on the Scandinavia route, Ekol took its first step towards leadership on this route.

Use of "SAP R/3" for corporate processes began.



Orkide Facility at Hadımköy was built. This facility made Ekol the owner of Europe's most modern textile logistics center.
Kardelen Facility at Sultanbeyli, which now serves as the headquarters of the company, was built. Services in the field of Contract Logistics were launched.
The first overseas branch was opened in Germany.
Ekol made the largest single fleet investment in Turkey. The service network was extended to provide also air, and sea transportation as well as customs clearance services.
In the period of 1990-1993 Ekol operated as a forwarder providing international road transportation services.
Ekol is founded
It is considered that a global business must have name that can be pronounced easily all over the globe. That is why Ekol adopted a trade name that is pronounced the same way in all world languages considering the fact that Ekol Logistics was established with the objective to become a leading brand in Europe. Therefore, a word with its etymological roots in Latin, "école" was adopted as the inspiration for the brand name of the firm.
