Ekol's new CEO Mehmet Nalbantoglu
explained his new target at Ekol Logistics as follows: "
By introducing the 4th dimension concept to the logistics sector,
Ekol will become a leading logistics company in the world in
2005."
Mehmet Nalbantoglu, who refused to take duty in the new HP following
the HP-Compaq merger, wrote as follows in his farewell letter:
|
"Compaq Turkiye employees will now be holding positions in the
new HP organization and continue their careers in this new structure.
And I personally decided to develop different visions in my professional
career, and have set sailings to new horizons…"
Yes, the new horizons to which sailings were set by Mehmet Nalbantoglu,
who wrote this farewell letter in May, are now evident. In the course
of his adventures in the logistics sector, Nalbantoglu has identified
his sailboat: Ekol Logistics. Nalbantoglu's new position is the ship's
master, i. e. CEO…
Let us cease the introduction of Nalbantoglu for a moment, and
talk a little bit about Ekol Logistics. The Company, which was established
in 1990, has 500 employees at present. The Company's turnover was
DM 67 million in 2001. Various renowned brands, i. e. Adidas, Carsi,
Benetton, Beymen, and Mark&Spencer are among the Company's customers…
THE 4th DIMENSION
The 4th dimension is quite a new concept; particularly in logistics.
After taking duty as CEO, Mehmet Nalbantoglu explains the operation
of the 'fourth party logistics' concept, which he has identified
as the basic strategy of Ekol Logistics, as follows: "In the
third party, the company which service was provided for; and the
logistics company had their own separate systems. The field staff
(boyle bir terim var, ama saha calisani icin daha uygun bir kalip
varsa, onun kullanilmasi daha iyi olur. Ben bulamadim!) used to
enter information and orders into their own systems; then, such
information was transferred to the logistics company through some
certain processes. These stages were, in the end, followed by storage
and dispatch activities. All of these stages are now viewed as old
solutions in the new world. The 4th dimension exactly eliminates
these intermediate processes. The system used by the field staff
or by the other employees is the same with our system. In other
words, two separate systems do not exist here as they do in 3PL.
With this system, the risk of dissociation and time loss are eliminated."
With the newly developed solution, Ekol Logistics aims to expand
the circle by personally providing all hardware and software required
by companies. The solution will also include the required hand computers,
laptops, and cellular telephones, together with software to be used
in such devices. Ekol will offer all of these services to companies
at varying costs.
