Ekol Cruises The US Seas
Ekol Logistics took a big step by obtaining the NVOCC certification that permits sea freight in the sea transport operations associated with the U.S.
Ekol Logistics applied to the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) to be NVOCC certified. It is now able to issue its own bills of lading and enter into freight agreements in the maritime transport operations associated with the U.S., including door-to-door deliveries, without the need for a third party licensed company.
Ekol Logistics Forwarding General Manager Mehmet Özal stated:
Receiving the NVOCC certificate is a significant step for us to have a voice and advance in maritime transport in the region. We are proud to have achieved this success with the Ekol Family.
Given that a significant 80 percent of global trade is performed via maritime transport, Ekol Logistics offers cost-effective freight alternatives and intercontinental integrated logistics solutions to its customers thanks to its extensive network of agents and memberships at the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), International Tank Container Organization (ITCO), and Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers (UTIKAD).
In addition to port-to-port, port-to-door and door-to-door transport, Ekol consolidates LCL shipments under its maritime transport solutions, and offers transit loading service and cross-transport services between two countries outside of Turkey. It fulfills logistics operations of liquids and chemicals more rapidly, safely, environmentally-conscious, and at the highest possible volumes with its Flexi and ISO Tank type containers, which have been recently added to its existing fleet of standard and special-type containers.
