Ekol is Featured on The “50 Global Leaders” Documentary Series

Ekol Logistics was chosen from numerous leading companies to represent Turkey as part of Bloomberg International’s special project, 50 Global Leaders. The series showcases international managers, entrepreneurs, and prominent leaders across the globe who are driving change.

The documentary portrays Ekol’s efforts through a broad perspective and on a wide array of topics such as its customer-oriented mission, eco-friendly and sustainable operations, the new management model planned to be implemented soon, the company’s R&D and innovation activities, and its programs to help stray animals.

Summarizing the company’s goal as “to do our part in leaving a better world for the future,” Ekol Logistics Chairman Ahmet Musul said:

We strive to protect the environment while increasing efficiency and using the latest technology to offer better outcomes. We generate electricity through solar panels on the roofs of our facilities and provide cost-cutting solutions that save an amount equivalent to circling the Earth hundreds of times through our enormous intermodal operation. By doing so, we are trying to create business methods that can satisfy our customers and sustainably use our planet’s resources.

Our goal is not to become the best in the world, but to be the best for the world through our exemplary work.

Leading the innovation in logistics, Ekol’s Turkey Country Manager Arzu Akyol Ekiz highlighted Ekol’s R&D efforts:

We achieved a first in logistics thanks to our Ekol R&D center, established in 2012 with the approval of the Ministry of Science, Industry, and Technology. We channel 2 percent of our income to R&D which makes us one of the top logistics companies in Europe in terms of R&D spending.

The 50 Global Leaders documentary series, produced through the partnership of TBD Media Group and Bloomberg, offers a medium for companies to convey their missions by focusing on areas such as the direction of international trade, social priorities, the nature of business models, and management in a globalized world. Leaders also share their views on the future.
