Ekol Nmaed The First Sustainable Logistics Company Of The World!
FIATA 2014 World Congress’ main sponsor Ekol, achieved yet another first, and was named the first logistics company which received a “Sustainable Logistics Certificate” in the world.
Having assumed the main sponsorship of FIATA 2014 World Congress, Ekol is now certified for the success of its operations carried out in accordance with the sustainable service perspective. Ekol, is awarded the “Sustainable Logistics Certificate” in conclusion of the audit carried out for the first time in Turkey and the world by UTİKADand Bureau Veritas. The umbrella organization for the transportation and logistics industry, UTİKAD, and Bureau Veritas, an independent certification and audit entity with a history of 186 years, engages in ground-breaking activities to encourage logistics and transportation firms towards sustainable growth.
In this context, Ekol underwent an audit on the basis of environment, energy, occupational health and safety, employee rights, road safety, asset and customer feedback management criteria, and was duly awarded with the certificate. Ekol made a habit of proving its pioneering and entrepreneur structure on all platforms, and aims to ever improve its level of performance by accelerating its sustainable development with the encouragement it thus received. The “GOLD” level “Sustainable Logistics Certificate” was presented to Ekol at FIATA 2014 World Congress.
The FIATA Congress held on October 13-18 at Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center was attended by 44 firms and approximately 1000 participants from all over the globe. The event where Ekol also served as the official logistics provider, is organized through the cooperation of Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers (UTİKAD) and International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA). It provides a venue where world’s logistics authorities meet the representatives of the industry. This year’s congress is built around the theme “Sustainable Growth in Logistics“, and aims to share the developments and innovations concerning the industry, and cementing new cooperation efforts in logistics. Moreover, the congress saw the launch of FIATA’s new projects, and provides a forum where the institutes, consulting bodies and workgroups within FIATA can share the current items on their agendas. In the congress where keynote speakers will talk about developments in various aspects of the industry, the representatives of Turkish logistics sector will have a chance to enhance their perspectives.
