Ekol Ukraine Has Successfully Passed A Social Audit

Ekol Logistics, one of the leading logistics providers in Ukraine, has successfully passed a social audit performed by the company Intertek. The following categories were audited: working conditions in the company, compliance with legislative requirements in the field of labor protection, staff records management, salaries, general business practices, eco-orientation. The audit confirmed Ekol high social responsibility regarding its employees and the environment where the company operates.

In April Ekol Ukraine passed a full-scope social audit which had the goal to confirm, with the help of an independent third party, the company’s deep commitment to high standards of social responsibility.

The audit was performed by the independent auditing agency Intertek Ukraine, a subsidiary of the British auditor with a 130-year history. Representatives of the company worked in Ekol central office and warehouse premises for several days studying thoroughly employees’ working conditions, labor relations, compliance with labor protection and fire safety requirements, checked Ekol corporate code and if the company’s activity is environmentally friendly. The specialists audited not only provider’s documentation, but also communicated directly with employees.

As a result of this inspection Intertek provided Ekol with the official document, proving conformity of Ekol business processes and working conditions with the standards of social responsibility.

We are very glad that we joined those few companies in Ukraine that decided to go through the social audit. The audit is always a matter of general anxiety but in our situation we were absolutely sure about the success of such initiative. Doing socially responsible business is one of Ekol’s priorities and the audit by an international company confirmed that we understand this concept correctly and act accordingly.

commented Andriy Golimbovskiy, Ekol Ukraine CEO.
