International CEO Support to Ekol’s Objective to Become a Global Brand
Tayfun Öktem, who has had many years of senior management experience in various domestic and international platforms, has been appointed as the CEO of Ekol Logistics, one of the largest integrated logistics companies in Turkey and Europe.
Ekol Logistics, by adding global brands to its customer portfolio and establishing Ekol Germany followed by Ekol Italy and Ekol Romania in 2011, is targeting to become a global logistics company. Ekol has now decided to carry on its journey with a name, Tayfun Öktem, that has already filled senior positions in various countries as senior manager.
Tayfun Öktem finished the Private Darüşşafaka High School in 1982 and graduated from Bosphorus University/Business Administration in 1986.
He wrote his dissertation in International Sales/Marketing and earned a Master degree from the University of Minnesota/USA. Upon his return to Turkey, Öktem worked and held senior positions at Unilever in Istanbul and Prague for eight years and another eight years at Reckitt Benckiser in Istanbul, London and Copenhagen and five years at Ülker International.
In 2004, while he was the General Regional Manager in charge of Scandinavia at Reckitt Benckiser, he joined the Ülker Group and became the General Manager and Foreign Investments Vice-President at Istanbul Gıda which is the exporting arm of the Ülker Group. His latest position was the CEO of the well-respected Saudi food company Almunajem C.S. Co.
Tayfun Öktem speaks English and German. He is married and has one child.
